SCHOOL SITE COUNCIL

School Site Council
The School Site Council is made up of elected members from the following groups: Parents, Students, RBV staff and the Principal. The primary responsibility of the Council is to approve and monitor the School Plan for Student Achievement as well as approve the categorical budget for the school.

The Council meets once a month during the school year to review/monitor the school plan and budgets. Anyone is welcome to attend the monthly meetings, however, only the elected members of the Council can vote on the school plan and/or budget.

START SMART PROGRAM

RBV invites students and their parents to attend classes about safe teen driving, presented by the San Diego Sheriff Department. The Start Smart Program is an opportunity for new drivers and their parents/guardians to clearly understand their responsibilities when a teen starts to drive. Taught by trained law enforcement personnel, it creates awareness of possible consequences, both financial and physical, of distracted or impaired driving, and provides applicable information about collision prevention. Participation in the Smart Start Program is highly recommended.

The San Diego County Sheriff's Department is reminding teens and parents to be safe, smart and responsible this graduation season. Parents are urged to intervene to ensure that celebrations do not include alcohol to prevent needless injuries or loss of life. The Sheriff's Department is holding the following community forums to give parents the most up to date information about the legal, social and health-related consequences of serving alcohol to minors.

Remember, the legal drinking age is 21.
Know your responsibility as a social host.

Don't be a party to teenage drinking.
It's against the law.
